For her fourth album, Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Alicia Keys wanted to do things a little differently. She started listening to artists as diverse as The Police and Genesis, with an ear toward how she could incorporate those sounds into her own R&B-flavored pop. The disc, “The Elements of Freedom,” is meant to be a departure for the 29-year-old New York native.
